So, as you can see, it’s a one woman kind of show around here. Ha! Photos with the blue coat taken by my friend on my birthday!

I was born as the youngest of five, in the late 80s. And yes, let’s just assume my age is 30 forever!

Well, what’s my story?

But first, why Olivia Giovanni? As in why does my name sounds very Italian. Olivia is one of my mom’s middle name. My mom heard from a fellow mom in the hospital that Giovanni means gift from God. And she liked the sound of that. Thus, my name is Olivia Giovanni. I do have an Indonesian family name, my dad’s last name. So my actual name is Olivia Theresia Giovanni Lumentah. There. That’s me.

I started doing photography when it collided with my other passion. Cooking. I really love to cook and at some point I wanted to start documenting the process and share my recipes. I started a food blog in 2014. I picked up my brother-in-law’s camera and made photos of my food. The gear was Canon 550D and a 50mm 1.4 lens. Food photography is my first love.

My style of photography is relaxed & easygoing and I try to keep a fancy element to it. Just the same as my personality. I’m very easy going as a person. I like funny things. Comedy movies and tv series are my favorite. “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” has got to be my favorite show of all time.

What’s my fancy element? Colors. I love playing with colors in photos. Whether to make the photos come out fun or classy.  A pop of color can create and shape the result of the final photos. You can see a lot of colors on the photos in this page but this one on the right, I muted all the colors and I feel like the the beauty of the cherry blossom park is shown in a more elegant way.

Eclectic would be the way I would describe my editing style. Color is definitely always a factor. But sometimes I like to translate the story more than keeping all my edits looking uniform.
